Alex’s Updates: Building Strong Foundations, Why Keyplan Wealth Chose St. James's Place

20 March 2024

When I embarked on the journey of building Keyplan Wealth, a strong foundation was paramount. Coming from a large, well-established bank, stability was something I recognised as key to my future business. When designing and building the business, particularly during the initial pandemic days working from Christchurch, then later when adding our Brockenhurst office, I sought a company that mirrored that stability. This is why Keyplan Wealth proudly joined St. James's Place (SJP).

Three key factors solidified this decision.

Firstly, longevity. SJP boasts a long and successful presence in the financial advice market. While I was setting up Keyplan, the comfort of knowing I was going to be representing a firm established in 1991 – one likely to be around well after my retirement – provided immense confidence.

Secondly, scale and scope. My vision for Keyplan was to offer comprehensive financial advice throughout a client's life journey, from navigating first-time investments to facilitating wealth transfer strategies later in life. Managing these diverse needs independently would have been both complex and time-consuming. SJP's established network ensured efficient access to a wide range of financial products, freeing me to focus on what I do best: providing my clients with trusted, personalised advice exactly when they need it.

Finally, continuity. As a family-oriented financial Practice, I acknowledged the possibility of one day stepping away, be it due to retirement or unforeseen circumstances. Having witnessed businesses falter from the loss of a key adviser, a robust continuity plan was essential. Fortunately, SJP's framework ensures a smooth transition of advice should such a situation arise, offering both me and my client’s invaluable peace of mind.

Since 2020, Keyplan Wealth has had the privilege of serving clients across the New Forest, Christchurch, and Brockenhurst with the unwavering support of St. James's Place. Being an Appointed Representative of SJP allows us to deliver exceptional one-on-one financial advice, and we look forward to continuing this journey for many years to come.
